We are now accepting applications for the 2027 Quantum Fellows program. Fellows join Ruqi for two years with a research budget, dedicated mentorship, and the expectation that they will publish openly and teach at least one public-facing workshop each year.

We are looking for people working on error correction, quantum simulation of materials, sensing for public infrastructure, or the social and policy questions raised by quantum technology. We are especially interested in applicants from groups underrepresented in physics and computer science, and in applicants whose path into research was not a straight line.

The fellowship pays a salary of $92,000 per year plus benefits, with $15,000 per year for research expenses. There is no requirement to bring external funding. Applications close on 15 November 2026, and we will make offers by the end of January.

You do not need a publication record that looks like ours. You need a question you care about, evidence that you can make progress on it, and a willingness to explain your work to people outside the field.
